The Dark Knight

Of all the super hero movies, the Batman movies are my all time favorite. I loved the X-Men trilogy, the Spider-Man ones were excellent too. For me though, nothing compares to the Bat. Val Kilmer used to be my favorite Batman and Batman Forever was my favorite Batman film. Even after Batman Begins (which was excellent), Batman Forever was still my favorite although Christian Bale was beginning to creep up the list of my favorites. The Dark Knight may usurp Batman Forever.

I know people are raving about Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker and I don't doubt that its going to be incredible. Let's not forget the rest of the cast though. From what I've seen in previews, Christian Bale may very well be the best Bruce Wayne ever. Gary Oldman is fantastic in everything he does, and his Lt. Gordon is no different.

I practically did cartwheels when they announced that Maggie Gyllenhaal would be taking over the character of Rachel Dawes from Katie Holmes. No offense to Mrs. Tom Cruise, but her acting is a little wooden. Maggie G. has such a great range of emotion, which is essential in a series as dark as this one. With a supporting cast of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart (swoon) how can you go wrong.
