Oh I love a short week. It's Wednesday already! I took Tuesday off as a vacation day and enjoyed a mini-vacation from work. It was nice to de-stress and have some downtime. What's been going on around here over the July 4th break?
I had an appointment for work on Friday. As the person in charge of International Admissions, sometimes I have to interact with Customs and Immigration. I had an appointment on Friday morning, so had to dress up a bit. Since I don't work on Fridays in the summer, it's usually a shorts and t-shirt kind of day, but given the nature of the appointment, I thought a dress and some great Stella & Dot accessories were in order.
Phillip was cold, hence the blanket. We've been watching the ESPN Documentary on OJ Simpson. Wow. It is gripping. And long. It's 5 episodes and each is 2 hours long. It is so well done though. I highly recommend it.
Saturday was low key, we hung around the house and did a few errands and such. This Lush maxi dress is perfect. It is so soft, it is like wearing pajamas. And right now it's on sale for less than $40 in a few prints and colors, including the black that I have on. I have had great luck with this brand. The fit and quality are always excellent. This is a great summer sun dress. The necklace is Stella & Dot, the Aurora and it's a 2-in-1. The larger gold drop in the middle is gold on one side and has crystals on the other. I love a necklace you can wear multiple ways.
Before hitting up the grocery store and the other places we needed to run errands, we opted for breakfast at our favorite place - Cafe Brazil. I am a creature of habit and always order a Chorizo Empanada. It is so delicious. I can't even describe it. For those of you coming to Texas for the wedding, I highly recommend breakfast at Cafe Brazil while you're here.
And then the internet went down. We lost power for about .5 seconds and then it took forever for the internet and cable to come back. So we had to entertain ourselves for a bit (we were both working and had to pause due to said lack of internet...)
Kate enjoyed the outage.
I went and got a pedicure. #sigh #sorelaxing #OPICajunShrimp
Dinner at Mi Dia was how we wound down Saturday. Oh, it was so good. I always get the same thing - the duck carnitas street tacos. If you are local, you must try Mi Dia. They have the most extensive margarita menu I have ever seen #goals
My red, white, and blue for July 4th. I love this shirt. I cannot even begin to describe to. Right now it's $29.99 from J.Crew Factory. I had really wanted the red checked pullover from Anthropologie but it sold out #sadtrombone. I was so excited when I stumbled across this option on the J.Crew Factory website and it was basically $50 less than the Anthro version. #winwin
It was a pretty quiet day. Phillip did some work and I got to snuggle on the couch with this guy for a little bit. My Jack is getting older. He's got arthritis in his hips but he's still up for a naptime snuggle.
The city of Irving does their firework show on Lake Carolyn #rightoutsideourdoor. At 9pm we wandered out to the lake and waited. We always enjoy the fireworks and the Irving Symphony plays during the show.
I didn't take a lot of pics of the fireworks, I was too busy enjoying them! #asitshouldbe
That's a peek into what we've been up to. I hope you all had a great holiday! I'll see you all back here on Friday for Friday Favorites.
xoxoxo
