This promises to be a busy couple of weeks. I head out to Austin on Wednesday afternoon and return on Friday and then Sunday I leave for Albuquerque until Thursday. I'm hoping to get blog posts up during that time, especially since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is about to start #themostwonderfultimeoftheyear.
With Monday being a holiday, I took the opportunity to take Tuesday as a vacation day and spent the afternoon with Billie-Jo and the kids. The goal was to hang out by the pool, which we did, but the weather was iffy so I never actually made it into the water. That's fine, I got to hang poolside with this cute pup #phoebe #shessocuddly
Around these parts we do Meatless Monday and Turkey Burger Friday. This week I went with Shay's Cheddar Beer Burgers and substituted ground turkey for ground beef. Both Phillip and I really enjoyed this recipe. Here I am carmelizing onions for the burgers. Nothing beats the smell of onions cooking in the pan, unless it's garlic.

If nothing else, go for the shorts - they're only $16 and super comfy.
Ah, Summer Fridays how I love thee. This past Friday I had a couple of errands to run in the morning before meeting up with Beej and the kids. I love this look, the chambray shirt and the fun necklace with the bright pop of color from the shorts. It's easy and still looks incredibly put together. This shirt also looks amazing with white jeans. #justsaying
Beej and I took the kids to see The Secret Life of Pets. It was so so good. It was very funny and the kids and adults enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
Is anyone else watching the Olympic Trials? Phillip and I are Olympics junkies, although I have to coerce him into watching gymnastics.
My plan Saturday afternoon was to take a nap. Jack had other ideas #nonapforyoulady #hiinernets
We went to Rockfish Grill Saturday night which is one of our favorite places when we're craving fish tacos #getthejalapenohushpuppies #trustme
He had no idea I was taking pictures. He was checking out the highlights on espn while we were waiting for our hush puppies.
Saturday night for us is usually game night and we played Mario Kart for a bit Saturday night. I lost, as usual. Although one of these days I'm going to win. If you are looking for a tasty adult beverage, might I suggest whipped cream vodka and diet cherry coke? It was delicious.
I was able to attend Mass this morning. It had been far too long and I always enjoy going. It felt good to be there and I really like Good Shepherd Catholic Community.
Phillip prepped dinner - pot roast with vegetables all done in the slow cooker and I wish you all could smell how delicious this recipe is when it cooks.
Sunday afternoon I was off to the Irving Bridal Show with my future mother-in-law. We found a DJ - yeah! And saw some of the cakes in person from our baker - yeah! Cindy got to see some of the photos from our photographer. We had fun and got to chat and talk wedding talk and it gave me an excuse to break out this super cute bandana print dress. And here's the curly hair I promised you all #itshugeiknow
Have a great week y'all!
xoxoxo
