Life Lately

Well hello there Monday, you arrived rather quickly, didn't you?  #doesntitalways

We had a pretty quiet weekend around here, which doesn't happen often and I definitely enjoy it when it does.  We relaxed and ran a few errands, but it was nice to not have a schedule.  Here's a peek into what we've been up to...

The week started with barre.  Lots of barre this week - 4 classes!  I'm gearing up for the March Challenge 20 in 31.  Twenty classes in 31 days.  I am in it to win it, ha!  And...I'll make it to 100 classes this month!

Do you love this Stella & Dot knot bracelet?  I do.  I have been wearing it non-stop.  It's delicate and perfect for work or play.

On Tuesday I had several meetings that necessitated a little dressing up for work.  I hate wearing a suit jacket unless I absolutely have to, and I didn't have to on Tuesday so to ward off a chill (my office can be very cold), I grabbed my favorite Halogen cardigan.

Tuesday night I had an event - a dinner/training for Ohio State Alumni Recruitment Volunteers.  It was fun to connect with other OSU alums, have dinner at Maggiano's and talk about a couple of things near and dear to my heart - Ohio State and college admissions!

Thursday night I had another event, so I was a little fancy at work and pulled out the gold Stella and Dot.

The event was hosted by the spa I go to for my facials, Hidden Door Spa in Southlake.  It was at Del Frisco's Grille at Southlake Town Square.  I have recently discovered the joy that is a martini and I was happy to enjoy one on the rooftop of the restaurant.

Wednesday's post is going to be about my New Year's Goals and how I am doing with them.  I have been trying to put more effort into the nutrition goal lately and wanted a sweet treat on Friday while at work. I wanted to walk down to the bookstore and buy chocolate.  What I did was eat the delicious, juicy green apple I packed in my lunch bag.  #goals #focus

Saturday we had a few errands to do and I wanted to be comfy and casual.  I reached for these Hue leggings (a must-have, especially the high waist ones, they hold everything in!) and my rebel pendant.

Please tell me you all have discovered the joy that is the Backstreet Boys Pandora Station?  The best music!  I danced along in my car all weekend.

One of our favorite grab and go lunch places is Bread Zeppelin.  I opted for the Plymouth Rock Salad.  It's mixed greens, roasted turkey, pecans, blue cheese, beets, and dried cranberries.  Oh man it is delicious!  I order it every time.

Phillip hung out at home, he went for a run, and I went for a pedicure.  #sigh #relaxing

Saturday night was #datenight, as usual.  We tried some place new - Via Real in Las Colinas.  We have driven by it a million times and we finally tried it Saturday night.  Oh it was so delicious.  I had the adobo shrimp with crabmeat enchiladas.  I would order it again in a heartbeat.

And on Sunday we barre!  Of course.  I started Sunday with Barre.  Phillip went for a run.  We had a low key Sunday planned.  Barre was great, Kelly kicked my butt, as usual.

Phillip had some work to do and I wanted to go try on clothes at NorthPark, so I left him home and headed to the mall for a few hours.  I tried on all the things, ha!  My first stop was J. Jill and they had such cute things.  I was torn on whether to get that black gingham pullover and now I'm mad at myself that I didn't grab it.

Coffee Break!  The coffee at Nordstrom is delicious.  If you haven't stopped at eBar, you should.

And, insert sad face, this is another top that I hemmed and hawed over whether to purchase or not. I ended up not getting it, but now I'm having regrets and wish I had grabbed it.  In the moment, I felt the ruffles down the side were a little too much, but looking back at the pictures now I'm having second thoughts.

I did snag this off the shoulder top though.  Swooning.  I love it.  I can't wait to wear it.

I was in desperate need of a touch up.  My roots are very grey.  Have you tried Madison Reed?  This was my second time using them and I love it.  The kit comes with everything here, including the barrier cream and the cleansing wipe.  There's no stinky hair dye smell and I don't walk away with dye marks all over my forehead.  Love them.

I wrapped up Sunday night with The Oscars!  I love awards shows, I love watching the fashion.  My hands down favorite of the night was Viola Davis.  Honorable mentions to Halle Berry, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Kirsten Dunst,  Who do you think looked great on the red carpet?

I'm off to Austin tomorrow evening for an all day meeting on Tuesday.  I'll be blogging from the road though so come back on Tuesday for Stella & Dot style and on Wednesday for a goals update!  Make it a great week y'all.
