Life Lately

And here we are, back at Monday.  But...Spring Break starts Friday!  Yay!  And my parents are coming to visit.  Yay!!!  So the goal is to get through this work week, right?  Last week was a little busy, I had a work meeting in Austin and then a lot of work in the office so it felt non-stop.  Here's a peek into how the week went.

On Monday i was off to Austin and I stopped at the place I always stop at for dinner.  It's a little Japanese restaurant close to the hotel and I ordered sushi.  So delicious.  Phillip is not a sushi person so I tend to order it when I am flying solo for a meal out.

Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and mass was at 6:30am.  Yawn.  There were other masses scheduled that day but the only one that worked for me was the 6:30am.  I had a meeting on one of the campuses that day and stopped in the bookstore for a water.  The sweet cashier was having an internal conflict, I could tell.  Finally she leaned close to whisper, "you have something on your forehead".  I explained to her about Ash Wednesday.  It took courage though to say something to a total stranger, so I appreciated her kindness.

I had a day with no meetings so I was able to skip the business wear and go for jeans and a pretty sweater.  This sweater from J.Jill is so soft and pretty.  The grey is no longer available online (#sadtrombone) however you can still find it in some stores.  I was able to find it at the J.Jill at NorthPark in Dallas.

I finished my last book and I am now on to book #8 for the year, Hillbilly Elegy.  It is riveting.  Such an interesting story and an insight into a particular section of our American society.

Friday I had a meeting so I needed to look business appropriate.  This Trouve topper isn't online, but I was able to find it in store at Nordstrom (I was the NorthPark location).  This Dalilah pendant is my new favorite.  I love it.  It's also a two in one, you can double up the necklace and wear it as a shorter piece too (but I love it longer).

Speaking of gorgeous necklaces - this pretty one is part of the Summer Preview Capsule Collection and it is available to March hostesses for FREE!  If you are interested in hosting, drop me a line at nichole@themrsfisher.com and we can set up a trunk show.  We can even do them online!

Friday night was low key in our house.  We watched Air Disasters and relaxed on the couch.  Pardon my messy living room, but Kate loves an empty box and that one is her current favorite.

Saturday we had errands and I wanted to look put together and comfortable at the same time.  It's that same Trouve sweater from the other day paired with these AMAZING pants from J. Crew.  They are literally called the Saturday Pant and they are a new favorite of mine.

So what errands?  We went and looked at some potential neighborhoods where we might consider buying a house and we went and picked out tuxedos for the wedding!  #soexciting #onemorethingoffthetodolist #flowergirlsarenext

One of our favorite places to go for dinner is Southlake Town Square and one of our favorite restaurants is TruFire.  Oh it always so hard to make a decision.  Everything I've had is delicious.  This time I went with the Spicy Garlic Noodles with Shrimp.  So so good!  Phillip had the Smoked Spaghetti and Meatballs and he thoroughly enjoyed that as well.

I ordered this delicious martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives and it wasn't until we were driving home when I remembered that I had given up alcohol for Lent.  #sigh #didntevenmakeitaweek

Sunday morning consisted of chores.  I stripped and remade the bed with fresh sheets and this one had to jump in and "help".  She loves when I make the bed.  If she can get under the sheets she will.  Other chores?  Cleaning, laundry, a quick Target run, and I made it to barre this morning.  I also made those brownie truffles again.  One of the staff in my office is being deployed to Afghanistan and we are having a little party for him on Monday.

Speaking of Barre...I am so close to my 100th class!  Woohoo!  This was before Sunday's class, so I have 14 to go.  And with our March 20 in 31 challenge I will definitely make it this month.

I was working on some things at the counter and this sweet boy wanted a little attention.  I was all to happy to oblige.

All of this while the Harry Potter marathon played in the background.  I will always watch an HP marathon when it's on #always

I also went through my closet and purged a bunch of stuff.  My Poshmark closet has been updated.  There are a few purses and some pretty blouses and such.  Take a look!  You can find me at @nikkim602.

That was our week!  Our goal is to get through this week and make it to the weekend.  I am so excited for my parents to come out.  Make it a great week y'all!
