Good Morning and Happy Monday! Is everyone ready for a new week! And it's April. Is it me or is this year FLYING by. So much going on, it has just been non-stop. What has been going on? I'm glad you asked, here's a peek into our life lately.
After my parents left to go home, Phillip and I got all fancy for a dinner out.
We were meeting Phillip's parents for dinner to celebrate their 40th Anniversary! We had a lovely evening celebrating these two at Al Biernat's. The food was so delicious and the company couldn't have been better.
I had a paper to write for a class so Phillip took the reins and took care of Sunday dinner. We both like to cook so we try and trade off and share the cooking duties.
I've been to barre - quite a few times.
I find getting out of bed on Monday and Wednesday for the 5:15 class to not be so difficult.
Fridays are rough though. It's the end of the week, I just want to sleep, but I go. To psych myself up for this week's class I wore my 100 Club tank!
Because, yup - I did it! Last Monday I hit my 100th class at Pure Barre Las Colinas! Woohoo! It was a week of barre milestones because not only did I hit my 100th class, I finished the March challenge with 20 classes in 31 days.
This is the face of a happy girl who hit some of her barre goals.
We went to see Beauty and the Beast! Oh it was so good. Have you seen it yet? I absolutely loved it. I would go see it again in a second. I thought Emma Watson was a great Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast was excellent too.
I've been busy with Stella & Dot too! I love growing my business and sharing this gorgeous jewelry with my friends and family. One of our biggest releases ever happened last week. The Taj clutch sold out in hours. So crazy! You can see why though, right? They are making more, so if you missed out the first time you can still get one. I can take your order now and it will ship in July. This is seriously the MUST HAVE accessory for summer.
The other Stella & Dot piece I am crazy about right now is the Melody bracelet. All proceeds from the sale of the Melody for the month of April will go to the HollyRod Foundation which provides care and support for those with Autism. At $19 this is a great way to support the foundation.
** Edited to add that it is currently sold out and on backorder with an expected ship date in May. Stella & Dot has added the following bracelets (all $19) to the Autism Shop for a Cause Boutique: Wishing Bracelet - Bisous; Wishing Bracelet - Protective Eye; and the Harmony Bracelet.
I'm wearing it here with my watch and bangle. I love how fun it is.
I had to take this one to the vet this week because one of her eyes as tearing and she wouldn't open it. She HATES the vet. Here she is giving me shade. Fortunately her course of action is ointment every night in the eye and she should be back to normal in a couple of weeks.
We tried a new restaurant Friday night and for the first time in awhile we weren't impressed. It was 3.5 stars and it was just average.
My martini was delicious. I had the fish and chips for dinner and while it was fine, I've definitely had better. The garlic parmesan fries were tasty.
He had the ribs and he said they were ok. Again, nothing great. We probably wouldn't go back because there are so many other places we like better.
We started Saturday early with the Fort Worth Zoo Run. It was our third time running it and for the first time, he beat me to the finish line. This is a tough course. The first two miles are basically uphill. It's a workout. But we love it.
I've been wanting to wear this dress from Old Navy for awhile! I paired it with my Melody bracelet and some sandals for a cute baby shower outfit. Phillip's sister is due this month so we got together for a little celebration on Saturday.
Saturday is our grocery shopping day and every time I see one of these cans of olive oil in the market I think of my Grandma Mancone. There was always one in her kitchen.
I really wanted Oregon to win #anyonebutcarolina #dukefan. So now I will cheer for Gonzaga #yeahforjesuitschools
Because we ate out Saturday night (we make a conscious effort to only eat out once a week), Phillip made dinner on Sunday and he made this homemade jambalaya. Oh it was so delicious. I am so excited for leftovers! I believe the recipe is in the new issue of Cooking Light. You should check it out.
A rainy, stormy Sunday couldn't start any other way than with a delicious cup of coffee.
And then some Sunday chores. I did some baking, some cleaning, some laundry, and some prep. I portioned out almonds. I'm trying to cut out extra sugar and have decided to go back to plain non-fat Greek yogurt with mashed banana and almonds for my morning snack. I'm trying to stick to less processed foods and more nuts, beans, and veggies.
That's a peek into what we've been up to. What's going on with youSound off in the comments. Tomorrow it's another installment of Stella & Dot Style!
