Yay for Friday! Straight off, I apologize for no Wednesday post this week. I have been a little busier than usual. I'm in the middle of a barre challenge (because of course) and I am trying to cram in more classes than usual. I should be back to regularly scheduled blogging next week.
Anyhoodle...back to your regularly scheduled programming. And it's Friday! That means it's time for Friday Favorites. This week I am highlighting my favorite work wear styles. I work in academia, so it's not corporate. However, I have a kind of high ranking position so I do need to dress for the occasion most days. Once in awhile, usually Fridays if I have no district meetings, I'll wear jeans and a school polo, but mostly, it's elevated business casual/business level wardrobe decisions with skirts and dresses dominating.

I call this Ellen Tracy dress my Mad Men dress and I love it. It is in constant rotation. It's fun but professional and the texture is amazing. You can kind of see it in the photo. It's kind of tweedy and a gorgeous green.

Isn't the green on this shirt gorgeous? I love separates because I can mix and match. And who doesn't love a leopard print? I love the shoes, they make the outfit pop.

I love a sheath dress. This Tahari has the added benefit of a faux leather back. It is such a stunner. The high collar and the leather back keep it from being too staid or boring.

A little black dress is always a good option to have in your closet. I add interest to the plainer dress style with bright shoes and amazing jewelry. Unfortunately, neither the necklace nor the earrings are available but I've linked to similar items.

This is the kind of dress I wear when I need to be a little dressy on a Friday, but don't need a full on dress/jacket/suit deal. It's comfy but dressed up enough that I look professional. Win/win.

A word to the wise - a staple of your work wardrobe should be a few cardigan sweaters in multiple colors. I rarely leave the house without one. My office can be incredibly cold. Dressing in layers helps so I have sweaters in neutrals like navy, white, and black and then a few colors like this yellow.

This is another typical Friday look. Jeans elevated with a dressier top, heels, and great accessories. I feel and look put together and professional and I still get away with wearing jeans.
Those are my work wardrobe favorites. Going through these photos has me wanting to cut my hair...we'll see how that goes. Next time I post, my hair may be about 4 inches shorter. We'll see.
Have a great weekend y'all! We're off to Nebraska Furniture Mart in search of some items for our living room makeover. Stay tuned!
