With This Ring...

We already got our pictures back - eeek!  And I love them.  A word to future brides, do NOT skimp on your photographer.  You get what you pay for.  I would actually make the case that that is true for everything, but I'll save that for another post.

The wedding.

 

Y'all.  I can't even.  It was magical.  We wanted a fun evening for us to party with our family and friends and that is exactly what we got.  Going into the week people kept telling me, something will go wrong, just roll with it.  You know what?  Nothing went wrong.  The only thing we ended up doing was moving the ceremony inside because we had the coldest weekend in October that I can remember.  It all worked out though.  And at the end of the day, I married the love of my life, my best friend, and the person I plan to grow old with.  

My dress.  Oh my dress.  I loved it.  It was nothing like I imagined going into the dress buying process, but the second I put it on, I knew.  It had a drop waist, which meant no pockets, but that's ok.  That jeweled bit at the drop waist we added later.  

We had a small wedding party, which worked out perfectly.  

And the cutest flower girls.

Am I right?  They didn't meet until that weekend, but they got on like gangbusters.

The ceremony was short, about 15 minutes.  Neither of us messed up any words.  But it is nerve wracking being in front of all those people.  We had some minor microphone problems, but the officiant was a pro and kept us moving along.  He knew being the center of attention was not our favorite thing.

This may be one of my favorites.

Instead of a guest book, we had people sign this canvas.  We'll hang it in the new house where we can be reminded of our wedding day every day.

Oh our cake.  It was so delicious.  So delicious.  Delicious Cakes in Addison did a phenomenal job.  It was moist and delicious and everyone raved about.  I was kind of disappointed there wasn't any left because that would have been the perfect post-reception snack.

We also had a Groom's Cake.  For my New England readers, it's a Southern thing.

We opted for a very simple tablescape.  Nothing too big for the centerpieces.  My family didn't come all the way from New England for fancy centerpieces.  They came to party and celebrate.  It's not where we wanted to spend our time or effort.  And what we did worked out perfectly.

I did not have to worry about A THING the day of the wedding and that was all because of these two.  Adriana, my super incredible wedding coordinator, and Brianna, from the NYLO Hotel.  

We got through the ceremony and pictures - and then it was time to party!  We had a blast.

 

My aunt and uncle (actually, my mom's aunt and uncle), drove all the way from Massachusetts!  I was so thrilled they were able to make it.  They spent three days in Nashville on the way down, and then detoured to New Orleans for a few days before making their way to Dallas.  And then they drove all the way back!  #lovethem

As you can see, we all had a blast.  I wouldn't change a thing about that day.  It was the perfect way for Phillip and I to start our married life together.
