It's Wednesday! And the last Wednesday of the month! That means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. This is a monthly link up hosted by Shay and Sheaffer and is a fun recap of the last month.
Before I hop into what we've been up to this past January, I want to remind you about the GIVEAWAY that posted yesterday. You can win this gorgeous Stella & Dot necklace.
Head over to yesterday's post to enter!
Back to our regularly scheduled blog post!
What We've Been Eating
Monday - Salad
Tuesday - Pesto Pasta Salad (the leftovers are so yummy for lunch the next day)
Wednesday - Salad
Thursday - Cubano Chicken Roll Ups
Friday - Turkey Burgers
Saturday - not sure
Super Bowl Sunday - We're going to grill out since it's going to be in the 70s here in North Texas. We'll also make Broccomole to snack on.
What I'm Reminiscing About
That's a good question. This time about four years ago, Mr. Fisher and I were planning our first trip away together. We decided to head to Fredricksburg, TX for a long weekend. We had so much fun hiking Enchanted Rock and exploring the area.
Now we're trying to decide on where to take a quick little weekend away in April, a mini-babymoon if you will. If you have any recommendations, please share!
What I'm Loving
Cassie over at Hi Sugarplum! has released the most darling resort collection with Gibson. I love all the pieces. It was hard to pick just a few. We've got a family vacation coming up next year to celebrate some birthdays and I know these pieces will be perfect. Here are some of my faves.
I love this dress! Perfect for date night on vacation.
How perfect is this romper for summer? Wear it out and about, to the pool, barbecues, you name it!
I have the t-shirt version of this and it is DARLING. I can't wait to get the dress! How fun for summer date nights?
You can shop the whole collection at Nordstrom (including Plus Sizes!)
What We've Been Up To
We've been shopping for baby furniture!
Impromptu date night at our favorite local restaurant.
Some good down time reading and relaxing on the weekends.
What I'm Dreading
Not much at the moment (whew)
What I'm Working on
Some really great projects at work that will help our students and our partner institutions. I'm excited for what it will help us to do. We also got permission to post for a position that is going to really help our area. It's been great lately in the work arena. I've also got a work trip to Los Angeles in April. So hit me up with any of your LA must eat at restaurants! Especially if they're near the LA Convention Center area.
What I'm Excited About
I mean, of course! We are so excited for Baby Fisher to arrive this summer!
What I'm Watching/Reading
Must watch TV for us is Top Chef and we are in the middle of Season 16. Any other Top Chef fans out there?
I finished Bad Blood this past weekend. It was so good. I highly recommend it.
I'm re-reading an old favorite - Murder on the Orient Express. Just as a little palate cleanser before jumping into something new.
What I'm Listening To
Tons of podcasts in rotation. I'm a fan of the short, serialized ones like Gladiator and Cold. The Escaping NXIVM podcast was also excellent. I sometimes wish my commute was just a little longer so I had more time to listen in the morning.
What I'm Wearing
At this point? Whatever fits, ha!
For church on Sunday it was comfy jeans and a nice tunic sweater.
I love this pullover! It is so comfy and cozy and it a staple in my weekend wardrobe right now.
What I'm Doing This Weekend
Not much, just a little thing called THE SUPER BOWL! My team is in it! Again! TB12 and the boys are ready!
What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
I'm looking forward to not much going on. We have a birthday party one night, but other than that the calendar is blessedly quiet. Except for day care center tours.
Also - I won the bet with Mr. Fisher regarding whose team would make it further in the NFL season (my Patriots or his Cowboys). That means I get dinner at Perry's!
What Else Is New
Not much! I'm looking forward to a quiet February!
Bonus Question: What's Your Family's Favorite Valentine's Day Tradition
This may change once the baby gets here and we start new traditions with the little one, but Mr. Fisher and I do the standard dinner out for Valentine's Day. We just pick a slightly fancier restaurant than we normally would for a regular date night out.
That wraps it up for this month! I'll be back Friday with some Valentine's Gift Ideas!
