What's Up Wednesday

Are we at the last Wednesday of the month already?  Where did June go?  And don't forget to enter last Friday's giveaway!  You could win a FitBit Flex.

What We're Eating This Week - We've been into the Meatless Monday kick so Monday night we had veggie burrito bowls courtesy of Cooking Light magazine.  The rest of the week was a bunch of usuals for us: pork tenderloin with cauliflower rice and broccoli, baked tilapia with cauliflower, salad, and turkey burgers.  I have a lunch date with a handsome guy on Friday at Kona Grill.

What I'm Reminiscing About - My sister's birthday was yesterday and that always puts me in a nostalgic mood thinking about growing up with her.  We did not get along.  At all.  However, in the intervening years we've grown so much closer and I wouldn't want another for my sister.

What I'm Loving - Date nights :)  We've had a couple in the last few weeks and we always like to get dressed and go out.

What We've Been Up To - The ballgame!  We've been to two games at Globe Life Park this month. We love it there.
Go Red Sox!  Go Rangers!
I love my Red Sox with all my heart, but when the Rangers aren't playing them I root for the Rangers too #adoptedteam #adoptedhometown

What I'm Dreading I don't know that I'm dreading anything at the moment.  I'm just enjoying this summer.  Next summer is going to be crazy with final wedding prep

What I'm Working On Cleaning out my closet.  Have you heard of Poshmark?  I'm selling some of my items.  If you look on the right side of the blog there's a Poshmark widget that lets you see what I'm selling.  They make it so easy to get your items out - think pre-printed mailing labels for flat-rate shipping boxes from USPS.  I've already sold a few items and I'm liking it a lot.

What I'm Excited About -July 4th weekend!  I have a mini vacation from July 1-5 and I am looking forward to the down time.  A little time by the pool, some fireworks, and some relaxing time with my guy.

What I'm Watching/Reading - I just finished Dead Wake.  Read it, trust me.  Now I'm onto Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter and it's good.  Also, are you on Goodreads?  Find me, be my friend!  I've got a ton of books in my queue to read but I'm always looking for new recommendations.

What I'm Listening To - Books on Tape, or rather, Books on iPhone via the Audible app.  I listened to Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld on my way to and from Austin last week.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Now I'm on to Wolf Hall.  May I also recommend Dan Stevens (aka Cousin Matthew from Downton Abbey) reading Agatha Christie?  Check it out.  #yourewelcome

What I'm Wearing - Besides date night dresses and such, it's been a lot of shorts and t-shirts on the weekends with the occasional sun dress thrown in.  And fun jewelry, of course.

What I'm Doing This Weekend - Hitting up the movies to see Independence Day: Resurgence, maybe the Southlake fireworks Sunday night and definitely the Irving fireworks Monday night.  Trying a new recipe - Chicken Spaghetti either Sunday or Tuesday.  Monday night for our 4th of July dinner I'm making oven baked tacos and mini skillet cookies with vanilla ice cream.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month - Heading to New Mexico!  I've never been.  It's for work, our VA meeting is there in Albuquerque this year.  I always like ticking another state off the list.  I've also promised a certain 5 year old that we can have a day together.  Oh, and the Secret Life of Pets with Jackson and Lila!  Can't wait.

What Else is New - We booked a wedding photographer - yay!

What is your favorite July 4th tradition and/or recipe - Last July 4th was my first with Phillip and we had a great weekend.  Very low key, we wandered around the lake and took in some of the live music and checked out the food trucks and vendors.  We wandered back to the lake for the evening festivities - the orchestra and fireworks.  It was fun and I'm sure we'll continue to enjoy the experience as long as we live here.

What's up with you?

xoxoxo
