Happy Monday y'all! Did you have a good weekend? We did! We had been talking for awhile about finding a bar in Dallas with great live music and that morphed into let's find a great place for dinner first and then hang out at the bar for awhile and then head home. Thursday, I was out of town in Austin, and chatting with Phillip Thursday night he brought up the idea of staying at the hotel where the bar was instead of driving home after. Brilliant beyond brilliant idea.
Our plan was to listen to the live music at The Library Bar at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. The hotel was originally built in 1924 and it definitely has that old charm to it. I wish I took more pictures because the lobby was gorgeous. There wasn't anything about it that was over the top or ostentatious, just elegant and beautiful.
Our room was gorgeous. Again, nothing over the top, just simple and elegant. You could tell the building was from 1924. The room was narrower than modern hotels and the bathroom was small in comparison, but it was charming.
Our plan for the evening was to head out to dinner and then head back to the hotel for drinks and music. Phillip picked the restaurant and we ended up at Toulouse over in Knox-Henderson.
I'm glad he picked a French restaurant because I have been craving French onion soup for weeks. I was not disappointed in the offerings at Toulouse. I can't wait to go back because there were so many other delicious looking things on the menu. Phillip opted for the steak with pommes frites. He said it was cooked perfectly. So two thumbs up from us for dinner.
This was our view. We were seated outside and it was a gorgeous night. Great service, fun location, excellent food, if you're looking to head to Dallas for dinner, you should definitely check out Toulouse.
The Library Bar at the Warwick Melrose was a great choice. Amazing ambience, you felt like you were in a library - built in bookshelves, comfy chairs and tables, darker lighting. It reminded me a bit of Abracadabar in Disney, only without the magicians. We enjoyed the drinks, we enjoyed the music, and enjoyed staying out past our usual bedtime, ha! The music as provided by a singer named Aubree-Anna. She was excellent. She started with Cheek to Cheek by Frank Sinatra and it's been on a constant loop in my head ever since.
Sunday morning we were able to grab breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast stops - Cafe Brazil. It was right next door to the hotel, so we wandered over and enjoyed our usual. The Brazilian Breakfast for him and a chorizo empanada and a small cup of granola for me. Oh, and coffee. Always coffee.

First of all, shout out to drybar for the hair. I great big puffy heart drybar. Since we were going to be hopping around from place to place and I didn't know how crowded the bar might be (fortunately we were there early enough to snag a table for two), I opted for jeans, a top, and heels. An easy look, elevated by great shoes and accessories. Perfect for a night out on the town.
We had a blast. At first it felt weird to basically get a hotel room where we live, but it was fun and a great idea, and we really enjoyed ourselves. So to recap...
