What's Up Wednesday

July is just about in the books and I am CRAVING Fall weather.  The Nordstrom Sale isn't helping my craving either.  I want all the pumpkin things!  We have hit the high heat of summer here in Texas and I am dreaming of cooler temps.  As we slide into August, it's time for What's Up Wednesday.  Here'sa look back at July and a peek into August.

What We're Eating This Week

With the wedding less than 100 days away we are trying to eat as healthy as possible and be consistent in our workouts.  Fingers crossed we can keep it up until October!
Monday - Veggie Burrito Bowls
Tuesday - Fish and Roasted Cauliflower
Wednesday - Grilled Chicken and Asparagus
Thursday - Soup
Friday - Turkey Burgers and Green Beans
Saturday - not sure yet, but something at home.  Saturday is usually date night, but we're limiting ourselves to once or twice a month now instead of every Saturday.
Sunday - not sure, but maybe one skillet jambalaya

What I'm Reminiscing About

Cooler weather.  Give me December!  July is in Texas is for the birds.

What I'm Loving

I am LOVING the new Stella & Dot arrivals.  There are so many great things to choose from and I love all of them.

What We've Been Up To

These two were up to no good.  Actually, Kate ended up at the vet.  If you remember, I discovered a lump at the base of her tail.  It was an abcess, and it's all cleared up and she is back to her usual goofy self.

We went to First Monday Trade Days in Canton and found a kitchen table for our new house.

We went to the Rangers/Red Sox game and had a great time.  The Red Sox won!  Yay!!!  #gosox #icheerfortherangerswhenthesoxarentintown

I went to Phoenix for work and got to lay out in the sun for a bit.  And by a bit, I mean about 60 minutes.  It was HOT.

I went to Austin for work and got to hear about the things that came out of this year's legislative session.

We have progress on the house!  Windows are in, HVAC and duct work are in, electrical and comm wiring are in, roof is on!

My future mother-in-law and my cousin threw me a lovely bridal shower.  We had such a fun afternoon.

And barre.  Of course.

What I'm Dreading

At least six more weeks of summer heat.  Ugh.

What I'm Working On

Setting up some trunk shows for August, a pop-up Stella & Dot show on Saturday, setting up my new planner that starts August 1, final wedding details...

What I'm Excited About

THE WEDDING IS IN LESS THAN 100 DAYS!!!!  That pretty much sums up my excitement.

What I'm Watching/Reading

I read a few books in July - more than usual.
I finished Believe Me and it was great.  I loved it.  It totally reads in his voice.  Then I read The Nest, which was another page turner.  A great read.  Then I read Lessons in French.  Which, I didn't care for.  I just couldn't get into the story or the characters.  After Lessons in French, I moved on to The Couple Next Door and could not put it down.  I finished it in 2 days.  And now I'm on to Crazy Rich Asians which I am really enjoying.  It's a fun, beachy read.

And like 95% of the rest of the world we are glued to Game of Thrones.  Also, the current season of The Great British Baking Show on PBS.

What I'm Listening To

At the moment, my usual Podcasts, but I'll start putting sports radio back into the rotation once football season starts.  My current favorite podcasts include: For the Love with Jen Hatmaker, Smartest Person in the Room, Foodstuff, True Crime Garage, 30 for 30, and Up First.

What I'm Wearing

dress (similar) | sandals (similar) | hammered hoops | necklace

What I'm Doing This Weekend

I've got a Stella & Dot pop-up event at Pure Barre Las Colinas.  I think after that Phillip and I are going to take a ride up to the outlets to do some shopping for Hawaii.

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

A month with no travel!  July was a doozy.

Bonus Question: My Favorite Thing About Summer

Pretty sundresses and sandals and that my favorite season - Fall - is right around the corner!
That's it for this month - see you Friday for Friday Favorites!

I'm reading Crazy Rich Asians right now too! I have The Nest on my to-read list, most people haven't liked it so it's neat to know that you did!

I really liked The Nest. I thought it was an interesting story about interesting people and the choices they're willing to make.
