Y'all. I know. It's Thursday. But we were traveling from Wednesday to Tuesday and the time to pull the post together just got away from me. So it's a day late. I can't believe September is almost over. I've got about 12 days of maternity leave left. Eeek. It went by sooo fast. Here's a look at our September!
Monday - My sister's boyfriend dry aged some steaks and we had that with the most decadent Brussels sprouts for dinner.
Tuesday - We had just landed from our trip so we punted and ordered pizza. Wouldn't you?
Wednesday - I made chicken stir fry. This had been in constant rotation prior to my pregnancy but I just was not interested in it while pregnant.
Thursday - We're having soup
Friday - Friday is Cauliflower pizza night
Saturday - We're making Andrea's Southwest Bowls
Sunday - We're having Chicken Enchilada Verdes
What I'm Reminiscing About
Our trip to Rhode Island! We took Henry to Rhode Island to meet my extended family - aunts, uncles, cousins. We had a blast.
We hing out with Family, went apple picking, watched football, and just enjoyed introducing Henry to everyone.
What I'm Loving
tarte color splash lipstick - shade Miami Vice
I am in LOVE with this shade. It's red with fuschia undertones. I love how it pops and it works well with my skintone. It's a satin finish, so it goes on smooth and doesn't dry my lips.
What We've Been Up To
Besides traveling to New England...a little of this and a little of that. H got his first round of vaccines and he was a trooper.
I took my first barre class in a year. I love it so much. I told Mr. Fisher that if we ever won the lottery, my dream would be to open my own studio. Living where we are now and with an infant too, I can't go nearly as often as I used to, but I'd like to get there about twice a month.
This little squish is ready for the Cowboys. I'm a Patriots fan, but Mr. Fisher is determined that H will be a Cowboys fan.
This one has been enjoying some snuggle time.
We transitioned H out of the swaddle and into a Nested Bean sleep sack. He had been Houdini'ing himself out of his swaddle and was spending more time at that than falling asleep. He's doing great! I put him down drowsy but awake and he puts himself to sleep in about 15 minutes.
What I'm Dreading
Y'all. I can't. I am just done. I am dreading more and more days of 90 degree weather. This is killing my spirit. I had visions of being able to take H on walks through the neighborhood, but it's so dang hot and he gets so warm in his carrier that I've avoided doing it.
What I'm Working On
Getting back into the blog routine! I'm also gearing myself up for going back to work.
What I'm Excited About
Halloween! It's one of my favorite holidays. H is a little young to go all out. He'll be 3.5 months at Halloween. But we got him a cute little skeleton romper from Carters to wear. I love Trick or Treaters and I'm hoping we get a lot this year.
What I'm Watching/Reading
This story has fascinated me from the first article I read about it and the book is enthralling. I can't put it down.
Call The Midwife
I started watching Call the Midwife on Netflix. Oh my stars. Y'all. Why didn't anyone tell me? This show is so so good. I have been binge watching it since last week. If you haven't watched it yet, add it to your list!
What I'm Listening To
Lots of podcasts! As usual, ha!
The Popcast is doing a show in Dallas and I'm so sad to miss it. It's the same night as the Billy Joel concert. I've been listening to The Popcast and Sorta Awesome for years! I still love them just as much. 10 Things to Tell You with Laura Tremaine is new in rotation and it's fantastic. Thought provoking and covers a variety of subjects. Over My Dead Body is a true crime podcast. They operate in seasons and this latest season was fascinating.
What I'm Wearing
I have been loving this dress. Flattering, comfortable, soft fabric, and it has pockets!
Another comfortable postpartum outfit. The Lou & Grey line has some of the softest fabrics out there. This dress has been in constant rotation.
Speaking of things in constant rotation...this jumpsuit has been my hands down favorite lately. My husband commented on how good it looked and he is normally not a jumpsuit fan. Wear it with sneakers, flip flops, or sandals. Trust me on this one - it does not disappoint.
What I'm Doing This Weekend
I've got a massage and a facial booked. I can't tell you how excited I am this. I've also got a barre class scheduled for Sunday morning.
What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
Hopefully cooler temps! Halloween! Pumpkin bread and pumpkin smoothies! More football! Fall is my favorite time of year.
What Else Is New
Not much else!
What was your favorite thing about September?

Your little guy is so cute. My kids both dressed up as a pod of peas for their first Hallowe'ens and it is one of my favourite Hallowe'en memories :)
My favourite thing about September was the lingering summer but we don't get nearly as hot as you do. I lived in Southerwestern Ontario in Canada, for reference.
Southwestern Canada sounds lovely right about now! I am ready for the 90 degree weather to leave Texas.
I can't wait to take pics of H this Halloween. I know we'll have great memories of all his firsts (but given how much I love Halloween, this will be extra special).
