It's Friday! Hooray! We have the day off today in observance of the holiday. I'm linking with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites.
This squish is 2 weeks away from his first birthday, so I thought today I would highlight some of my favorite things from his first year.
Let's start with the learning. I signed up for two specific courses - Taking Cara Babies and Feeding Littles. And I cannot recommend either of them enough. Taking Cara Babies was what we needed for tips, tricks, and practices to help Henry sleep through the night. The course was worth every penny. He is a great sleeper except for when he's teething, but otherwise he goes down easy, has slept through the night since about 7 weeks old, and we are all much better for it. With me going back to work full-time once my maternity leave was over, it was important for all of us to get a good night's sleep.
Feeding Littles really helped me not be afraid about giving food to Henry. We started him the traditional way with rice and purees, but after a couple of months of that started working table food into his meals. A few weeks of that and he had zero interest in baby food and now he eats what we eat. A typical breakfast for him will be a pancake with fruit, a muffin with fruit, or scrambled eggs with fruit. Lunch is usually something leftover from dinner. Dinner is usually what he eats. He loves all veggies, chicken, brisket, beans and rice, meatloaf, meatballs, pasta, and one of his absolute favorites is Thai Chicken Curry!
If you are looking for some help in either of those areas, I recommend both wholeheartedly.

Let me start with my adoration of all things Ryan & Rose.
PAT stands for Pacifier and Teether and they are great. These are the only pacifiers that Henry uses. Medical grade silicone, they are amazing. They come in three types - Stage 1, Stage 2, and Flat. Flat is for babies who prefer a flatter nipple. Stage 1 is for babies without teeth, it's softer, and stage two is sturdier, for babies who have teeth.
They also sell clips, teethers, and tensils (utensils).

Another favorite product is the Kyte Baby Sleep Sack and Pajamas.
This sleepsack is so soft and cozy! I wish they made them in adult sizes. They offer them in a couple of different weights, depending on how warm or cool you keep your house.
The bamboo fabric of these pajamas is the softest ever. Lightweight and so breathable, they're great on baby's skin. Henry has a couple of pairs and I just love them.
We have been working on using a straw and these have been the best at helping him figure it out. A lot of the other ones we've tried, the straw is so hard to suck anything through and he was struggling. I bought these off a recommendation from Feeding Littles and it's working.
We actually have a different version of this that is no longer available, but this one has the same features. Once he was big enough to start to reach the mobile, we knew we had to take it out of his crib. He loves watching the projector though, so we got one of these and it's been great. We don't use the music on ours because the volume at the lowest setting is still too loud, so we use the sound machine still. I like that it has a timer so you can set it to turn off after a period of time.
This is the backpack Henry has used this last year for day care and it was perfect. Big enough in the back to transport his food/bottle to school but not super big. The new day care he will start at in a week provides a bag so this one will go into the closet until Kinder.
We got one of these to put under the high chair in the kitchen and it was the best purchase ever. Easy to clean and keeps my hardwoods in great shape!
