What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday All!  It is the last day of September and we are one day away from my favorite month of the year - OCTOBER.  October is the height of Fall, it's also the month of my wedding anniversary, and I just think of fun sweaters, falling leaves, a crisp breeze in the air.  Is there anything better than October?

Before we get to October though, let's wrap up September, shall we?  I'm linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday.

1.  What We're Eating

Sunday - We ordered out from Thirsty Lion Gastropub.  I had the fish tacos (cod) and they were delish!
Monday - Mr. Fisher had a P&Z meeting after work so we had soup when he got home.  Henry had pasta, meatballs, and veggies.
Tuesday - Cauliflower tacos.  We sub in riced cauliflower for meat.
Wednesday - Salad.  It's the day I'm on campus right now so it's quick and easy when we all get home.  Henry will probably have leftover pasta or I'll do fish in the airfryer for him.
Thursday - Fish and cauliflower.
Friday - Homemade pizza.
Saturday - Order out.

 2. What I'm Reminiscing About

This time last year I was starting to wrap up my maternity leave.   This squish!  I can't even.  I loved those days at home with him.

3.  What I'm Loving

Football is back!  We've been watching my Patriots and Mr. Fisher's Cowboys.  Henry is a Cowboys fan too.

4.  What We've Been Up To

Not much - day care, home, work, COVID quarantine, but we did head out to the Dallas Zoo.  Appropriately masked and socially distanced, but it was a way to get out of the house and explore something new!

5.  What I'm Dreading

Not much.  October looks like it will be an OK month (COVID aside).

6.  What I'm Working On

Christmas gift lists.  It's looking like we probably will not fly home for Christmas, so I will need to start shopping soon so I can get stuff shipped to Rhode Island in time.

7.  What I'm Excited About

Another trip to the zoo in a few weeks.

I'm also looking forward to celebrating 3 years married to this handsome, amazing guy.

8.  What I'm Watching/Reading

I remember exactly where I was that day in January 1986.  Watching this and seeing the footage, it made me want to throw up knowing what was coming.  With that said - this was so so so good.  So good.  And heart wrenching too.

The Great British Baking Show is back!  We started that last Friday with the first episode.  The Showstopper Challenge was...interesting.  This looks like a fun group of bakers though and I'm excited for the rest of the season.

Y'all, this book was a gut punch.  The fact that the three sisters made it out seemingly ok is a testament to their strength.

9.  What I'm Listening To

A lot of my usual podcasts, but I recently finished 22 Hours: An American Nightmare and oh man.  It was so well done and another gut punch.  Definitely worth a listen if true crime is your jam.

10.  What I'm Wearing

A lot of leggings with my university's pullovers.  I'll also pair them with a dressy blouse when I need to be on camera for a meetings.  But mainly leggings, ha ha.

11.  What I'm Doing This Weekend

Not much - football, hanging out with Mr. Fisher and Henry.  Making a big pot of soup on Sunday.  That's about it.

12.  What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

Anniversary dinner with this guy!  Another trip to the zoo!  And some down time at work before we slide toward the end of the semester.

13.  What Else Is New?

Not much.  COVID has been keeping us close to home...still.

I totally remember where I was when the Challenger exploded. It was so sad and we got sent home from school early.

Now I'm very intrigued by that book.

Happy (upcoming) anniversary! October would be a beautiful time to get married.
