Yes, indeed. I don't think I have ever been on a blind date before and I am a wee bit nervous. My friend Jaime has been hinting for weeks that she wanted to set me up with her brother and I said okay. Something came up in the meantime and it was unclear whether I would be staying in North Carolina or moving back north. That situation has cleared up (nothing serious, just an opportunity I explored that didn't pan out). I'm happy it went the way it did - I love living in NC. But that's another story for another night. When it became evident that I would be staying here, Jaime leapt into action, e-mailing her brother and telling him that she thought he should meet me.
So we're meeting tomorrow night and y'all, I'm nervous. What if we run out of things to talk about over dinner? I have been on too many dates where I have carried the entire conversation and it is not the most exciting way to spend an evening, let me just tell you. Fortunately we planned on going to a movie after so if we do run out of things to say, it's okay because you can't talk during a movie.
I did all the girly things tonight (in my head, because I was working a shift at J.Jill) - decided what I would wear, how I would do my hair, what color lipstick, etc. Now I just have to wait. Stay tuned, I'll let you know how it turns out...
