How is it August already? Yikes. The start of the Fall semester is right around the corner. At this point, all I can do is hold my breath and hope that all of the plans, strategies, and safety measures we have in place will work out. I work for an institution that has been very deliberate in its planning and we all want this to go well. Fingers crossed!
If there's one thing that COVID has shown me, it's that I have some beauty favorites that I reach for time and again. In a time where I've really just scaled back on my make up and skin care, it is apparent to me exactly which products are my favorites and are basically all I use most days.
I have worn this scent for years. I tried it on in sephora and could not stop smelling my wrist. I was halfway to the next store when I turned around and walked back into sephora to buy a bottle. Even though it's just me at home, I wear this for me and it makes the day still feel normal.
If you want something that is going to easily melt away your make up and lave your skin soft and glowing, this is the cleanser for you. I've tried other brands, but none of them compare to this. A little goes a long way so I buy the giant tub and it LASTS.
I keep one of these in the shower and one on my vanity. One pump cleans my whole face so this bottle lasts a long time too. It smells incredible and is gentle on my face. I use this after the cleansing balm.
I use this every morning. My hands down favorite moisturizer. I used it all throughout my pregnancy too when I had to scale back on all my skincare favorites (no retinol!).
I use this cream every night. A little goes a long way. I bought this one last November and it's only 2/3 gone. I love what it has done for my skin.
I love this eyeliner. I love that there's a liquid/pen application and also a pencil. Depending on my mood and the look I am going for determines which liner I use. And it stays. All day. But comes off easily when I wash my face.
Second only to my beloved Roller Lash, I love this mascara. It gives me length with a little bit of volume. It doesn't flake or smudge.
I rarely use foundation. I'll use pressed powder and this concealer for every day make up. I love this because I feel like it doesn't settle in my creases. I use this under my eyes, on my nose, chin, and cheeks. I buff it in with a blender or brush and then use powder. I don't know if that's the correct way, but it works for me!
I use the shade paaarty in this - it's a great nude shade that works on my skin. I got a trial size from sephora years ago as part of the birthday gift for their loyalty program and just fell in love with it. While I'm tempted to try a cream blush, I haven't yet and go back to this one over and over.
First of all, it smells like the beach, so that's a plus right from the jump. Second, the coverage on this is perfect. A soft, subtle warmth - which is all I'm looking for. I'm pretty pale so too much bronzer and I start to look weird. I've used this one for a few years now and I always go back to it.
Even though I'm working from home, I like to be on camera for my conference calls which means I need to look put together (most of the time). While I've scaled back a lot on what I use on a daily basis - this is what I reach for most days.
Have you scaled back on your skincare/makeup since COVID?

I hope everything goes according to plan! I know so many school officials who are hard at work trying to come up with a feasible plan.
