Life Lately

Y'all.  It's been a minute, hasn't it.  Let me start by saying I have missed blogging so much.  It's so crazy though.  My last post was last October!  Which was right before I went back to work after maternity leave.  It really took a while to find my stride work wise - balancing working full time with being a wife and mother.

And then we got to March.  My beloved grandmother passed away and right after that is when all of the chaos from COVID started to ramp up.  Mr. Fisher and I are fortunate enough to work in industries where we were able to work from home.  We pulled Henry out of day care for awhile and hunkered down here in TX, only going out to pick up groceries.

That was our life until the beginning of May.  Mr. Fisher went back to the office and Henry went back to day care.  I am still predominantly working from home and going into the office one day per week.  I'll do a separate post soon about what my work from home life looks like, but we are making it work, which is good for our students.

Now June is almost over, we are staring down July and I am exciting to get back into blogging.  Here's a little peek at what we've been up to the last couple of weeks.

This little man has become a champion eater.  Rice and beans, brisket, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, carrots, green beans, corn, peas, thai chicken curry, meatloaf, muffins - you name it, he'll eat it.  I cannot recommend Feeding Littles enough.  They really gave me some good ideas on how to introduce solids and get him off purees.  And once that switch turned on for him, he wanted nothing to do with baby food.

I am getting back to running and am feeling so good about my progress.  I have been using the C25K app and it's been great.  I haven't run in close to two years.  We moved some things around and the treadmill now lives in my office, so it's a constant reminder working from home to get some activity in.  I want to get back to being able to consistently run 5K.

This one is just excited to have someone home all the time.  She is a social butterfly and wants to be where I am.  One of the cats is usually curled up in one of the cat beds in the window in my office.

This little squish is 2 weeks away from being one year old.  I cannot wrap my head around it.  He is growing up so so fast.  Make it stop!

Trader Joe's premade pizza dough is a favorite around here.  It is so so good.

This kid can't help but crack himself sometimes.

In May, my sister and niece came and quarantined with us for a month!  Henry was so happy to have him here (I was too!)  Movie nights on the couch with this little miss were a huge favorite.

Just be warned, she hogs the popcorn.

We took a ride into Dallas, followed all the rules, and hit up the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM.  My niece thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Sometimes you just want to snuggle in bed with your mom.

This is basically my work uniform now.

Henry is starting at a new day care in a couple of weeks and he needs to wear closed toed shoes.  I found these cuties on Amazon and I can't wait for them to get here this week.

This kid loves the water.  May your week be as good as his when he gets to hang out in the pool!
